Staff

The staff at the Commerce Children’s Center is dedicated to providing the children with opportunities to discover and learn.  The center has a full time Center Director who oversees the daily operations of the Center. The Center also has a unique position of Program Director. The Program Director is a tremendous support for both staff and families. With staff, the Program Director works on goal setting, program improvement and implementation. With families, the Program Director makes resources available and consults and advices.

Our classrooms are staffed with Co-Teachers who are qualified as Group Leaders in the State of Colorado. We believe we provide better than the typical hierarchy of Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher by striving to maintain a staff that consists of primarily Group Leaders working as a teaching team.  This staffing proves beneficial in program quality.  Most teachers hold either bachelor degrees, associate degrees or have extensive course work in Early Childhood Education.  We are proud to have such a highly educated and experienced staff.

In a profession that experiences an incredibly high turnover rate, we feel we are able to recruit and retain qualified, experienced and loving caregivers. We offer very competitive wages, a strong benefit package and a Parent Advisory Committee that supports and appreciate our teachers on an ongoing basis. We also have a Staff Advisory Committee that organizes events through out the year. Currently 38% of our teachers have been at the Center for more than five years and 30% for ten years or more.
